I've never really been that into text adventures, but this here is something special, having audio reinforce the environment makes it so much more immersive and interesting. I think the glow worms could have used maybe a little bit more explanation / tutorial, but the idea is quite interesting, and I think there's a lot more you could do with it too, maybe fishing & you gotta reel in and stop reeling at the right times, a maze with directional audio helping guide you, trying to sneak by someone and timing footsteps to thunder. It's great that the music grows and changes with the situation too, all smoothly, no sudden janks, it's all really smooth, which I'm a big fan of. The crispness of the UI is something that stands out for me too, as someone already pointed out, having up to repeat the last command and maybe tab for autocomplete would be good but since the game is short and sweet those QoL things aren't too amiss. Really cool stuff!

The music and atmosphere is very good and I enjoyed the timing challenge, I was hoping for more things like that. What's here is good, but it's very short.

There were some confusing things, like I didn't get at all that the lens was something to be opened.

(Also I kept trying to press the up arrow key to get to my last command to correct some typo, because I'm used to that from a console.)

I feel you with all the points you mentioned. Especially pressing up should really be implemented ;-).

Thanks a ton for playing and providing feedback!

I'm enjoying this game thus far, and the music really does add to the atmosphere, I do feel. ^_^

That said, I fear that I find myself stuck: In certain places I've found myself tasked with catching a creature. Attempting to do so results in failure, and the instruction to time my catch better. But I haven't found--either as an in-game object or as part of the audio--a means to time my catch.

(I've tried timing the press of the enter-key to various points or features in the music, but thus far to no avail.)

May I request a hint, please?

Hey Ian, thanks a lot for your comment!

I actually feared this part could be confusing although you were already spot on in pressing Enter in sync with the “glowworm” sound: To actually catch you need to type catch and then wait until the repeating sound effect reaches its peek and then hit Enter right on that spot.

The timing window around this peek point currently is set at half a second.

Ah... I'll confess that I didn't manage to pick out a "glowworm" sound from the music that plays in that area.

I'll give it another shot then, I think!

Thank you for the hint! ^_^

Ah, I've caught the glowworms now, thanks to your hint! ^_^

That said, I was somewhat surprised by the accompanying sound this time--I'm not sure that it actually played on my previous run of the game. If it didn't, then that may be (part of) the reason that I didn't succeed on that occasion.

And done!

That was overall a pleasant experience, and I did rather like your use of sound in it. ^_^
